1984 Vintage Michael Jackson Concert Shirt

Alright so I have been a huge Michael Jackson fan since I was 5 years old. I found this amazing vintage shirt from the Victory Tour in 1984 on eBay more than 2 years ago. I didn't buy the shirt because the handful of sellers were selling them from $140-$400 each. But every now and then I would search eBay for vintage MJ shirts because I collect them and I would keep my eye out for this special gem.

Last week I finally found a seller who was cleaning out someone's estate and selling this shirt with four 8x10 concert photos from the Tour and a ticket stub from the Sept 3, 1984 show at JFK Stadium. So I didn't bid immediately since doing that always jacks the price up higher than need be. I bid at the last moment and got the shirt, photos and ticket for $60. I really only cared about the shirt but the additional stuff was neat. I can't tell you how excited I am to finally own this shirt, it is the best looking MJ shirt I have yet to see. And I love anything MJ from 1984 because that was the year I was born. Here are some closer pics of the shirt:

8 days until the Aerosmith Concert and Meet & Greet!

In 8 days, on Tuesday June 19th I will be headed out with my best friend Cori on a 7 hour road-trip to Cleveland Ohio. We're going to see my fave rock band Aerosmith in concert and I have a VIP ticket to meet Steven Tyler & Joe Perry!

I know this is my "fashion blog" but I will be posting all the details leading up to the show and writing about the experience after it is all said and done. I've liked Aerosmith since I was 9 or 10 years old when I first saw the Cryin' video on MTV. I fell in love with the music, with the band itself and especially that crazy amazing Steven Tyler.

I've always wanted to see Aerosmith live, but have never had the opportunity until now. I go to a lot of concerts, it's one of my fave things to do. But Aerosmith's tickets are expensive, I suck at saving money and in the past I never wanted to go to a show alone. Even if Cori wouldn't have come with me to the show, I still would have went this time because I came to the point where I decided if I want it so bad, I will do it regardless...but I am glad she is coming with me! :0

Since I have been a fan for about 18 years now and have never been to an Aero show, I decided I might as well go big! So I saved my entire tax check and bought the ridiculously expensive Wheels Up Package from the Aerosmith fan club. Today I got the e-mail from the fan club with all the details about the meet & greet like the where &when...etc.

The Wheels up Package includes: a super close seat at the show, I will get to attend 2 seperate Q&A's with Brad Whitford, 2nd guitar & Joey Kramer, drums and they will also play for us. I will get to go to the pre-show experience that  bass player Tom Hamilton is doing. (not sure what that will entail). Then they give us a laminate & lanyard, a press photo and a limited edition merch item. After all that I get to attend a meet and greet with Steven Tyler and Joe Perry where they will sign the press photo and I get to take a photo with them! I can't tell you how excited I am about all this!!!

So I have been saving money for the trip, getting all the necessary items printed out for the hotel reservation, reserved parking and meet and greet waiver. I've saved the addresses in the GPS, and figured out total drive time and estimated gas cost on map quest. Just attending to every little detail.

I had a lot of fun searching for my outfit. I went a little mad buying lots of cool dress possibilities online in the past few months. After buying about 5 or 6 dresses, I've decided on a leopard print one from hottopic. After purchasing about as many pair of heels as dresses, I will end up wearing  my new hot pink pumps. It may sound silly to wear a dress and heels to a rock show, but since I am taking a photo with Steven Tyler and Joe Perry I want to wear something amazing. I'm bringing black flip-flops in my purse for when my feet are pissed.

I'll take some photos in the concert outfit, so I can post a look  for lookbook  and the blog! Then I'll later post the photo with me, Steven & Joe and assuredly some pics from the concert itself. This entire process from saving my tax check, skipping work to buy my ticket, to finding the perfect concert outfit, to figuring out trip details, to meeting Steven and Joe and finally seeing my fave band play all their best songs right in front of my eyes, well it's been/will continue to be a perfectly amazing and surreal experience.

Jungle Cat

So today I went to Target with a friend to buy a white tank top. I found a white tank top and also was glad to find a tan one cause I had been needing tan to wear with brown and pastel pink clothes I own. Then I spot this amazing animal print maxi dress hanging on the rack and knew I was in trouble! There was no way I wasn't gonna buy this dress! If you know me, or happen to follow my blog or see any amount of my looks I post on lookbook, it is pretty easy to figure out how much I love animal prints; especially leopard print. So I ended up buying the dress, even though I have too many dresses as it is.

The gold metal choker I found on ebay and it came in the mail the other day and I was excited to do a look in it. I had been seeing these chokers around and really liked some of them, so I searched online for the perfect one and this is it! The copper arm band makes another appearance in this look and I am wearing some simple copper strappy heels to complete the look.

The metals are different colors but worn with the different shades of browns/tans and the black in the dress, I thought it worked alright together.

Galaxy Cat DIY Top

I bought this Galaxy Cat T-shirt on eBay from a seller in China. Even though I love the shirt's graphic, I didn't like the shape/fit of the shirt. So I decided to make it into a cut-off fringe top. To do this I cute the bottom seam off the shirt and about 2 inches of shirt material. Then I just cut strips up the shirt to the desired length/thickness. Next I tugged on the strips of fabric to stretch them out a bit to give it that awesome fringe look. I cut the sleeves shorter and cut fringe strips on those as well. Then I cut off the T-shirt neckline to make it into an off the shoulder shirt. A very simple T-shirt overhaul. Since the shirt is bright and has a lot going on, I wanted to wear a bottom with something that lacked bold color, so I chose the white denim mini-skirt. Then to pick up some of the shirt's bold color in the rest of the outfit I added a hot pink peep toe heel and a plastic pink rose ring.

Military Vest

This olive green military vest I have had for a few years now, but it is always a fave. I wore it over a plain black spaghetti strap tank. I recently lost some weight and fit back into these ripped skinny jeans once more so I decided to rock those and belted them with this fun black belt I recently got on clearance from Kohls. The sandals I have been waiting to post in a look because I absolutely love them, they are adorned with silver shiny beads. The last touch to this look is the copper arm band I bought this week on ebay. That's it. Check out the photos below for a closer look at some of the items I am wearing!

Union Jack Tank

I bought this tank about a month ago and hadn't taken photos in it yet. I paired it with the white denim mini skirt and red suede wedges. The blue headphones are skull candy and I just got them about a week ago. The headphones have amazing sound quality and I wanna dance every time I listen to them.

Lace Corset Top

I bought this lace corset top by forever 21 at a thrift store for only $6. I paired it with my blue turqouise crapri pants and my pink sparkle heels. Here is a close up of the floral sunglasses!

...A Pirates Life For Me

When I was at Kohls the other day I found these amazing studded leggings by the new American Idol brand. I am an avid American Idol watcher and heard about the brand during a show and had seen some of the clothing items at Kohls a few weeks ago. I liked a pair of black and red striped jeans but they didn't fit right and the clothes were sort of pricey to be at Kohls. Anyways the other day all the AI clothing was marked to 70% off and these amazing leggings were only $10 after the discount.

I knew I loved the studded leggings but honesty had no idea what I would wear with them when I bought them. This is what I came up with thus far, hoping to find some more options in the future for these fun leggings. To be honest the studs on the black leggings remind me of something similar Michael Jackson has/would have worn on stage!! He wore a lot of black with shiny accents like buckles, metal accents and such.

Take me to a Rock Show

Today I stopped at Khohls intending to buy a black studded belt to go with a pair of ripped skinny jeans. As usual I ended up finding other things to try on and buy! So I found a studded belt, but ended up buying two black belts...the two belts pictured in the photo. I also found this white denim mini skirt and decided I had to buy it!

When I got home I was in the mood to do a look and this is what I came up with. I paired the white denim mini with the two belts and dug out my black zip bustier corset to go with. Then I selected my spike studded heels to go along with the edgy rocker theme and added a studded/chain bracelet and my red bandana. I simply just left my hair down and lookin' wild. haha I hope you like it.

Kiss Your Past Goodbye

Vintage 80's black corset dress with tulle skirt! I paired a white studded belt with the dress to draw attention to my waist. I hadn't wore my new lips printed heels and knew they would look fab with this dress.

Betsey Johnson Snakeskin tutu

This is my new Snakeskin tutu by Betsey Johnson. I bought this about a month or two ago when I was looking for the perfect dress to wear to the Aerosmith concert I'm going to on June 19th. I bought the dress on eBay for $60, love it  but have decided to wear another dress I found that will be better for the concert.

This tutu is quite short and the skirt is see through so wearing leggings is a must. I didn't want to wear regular everyday cotton leggings with it since it is such a striking dress, so I opted for a black faux leather legging. I really like gold with this color of green so I searched for some gold glittery heels and found a cute pair at a local thrift store for $10!!!!
